We have selected Bio – Honduras La Esmeralda coffee because of the dark chocolate notes in the cup, which remain in the aftertaste. Prepare it either as espresso or filter coffee and try to catch its fruity aroma, citrus acidity, and silky mouthfeel. Well balanced with ripe red berries and lemon notes. Long sweetness aftertaste.

Finca La Esmeralda located in the community of Arenales in the municipality of Chinacla, department of La Paz, at an altitude of 1350 meters above sea level. This small farm extends from the family home of Maria Rosario Pineda, an entrepreneur who has used the farm's income to fund the studies of her children in engineering and organic agriculture.
 
Maria began learning about coffee cultivation at a young age from her father who taught her how to carefully select for harvest and manage quality throughout processing - practices still applied on the farm today. The trees on Finca La Esmeralda are mostly of the Catuai variety, though there are some Bourbon and Ihcafe 90 trees also. Chinakla is synonymous to high-quality coffee.
 
Only five kilometers from Finca La Esmeralda is Finca El Puente, which won the 2016 Cup of Excellence with a record price for its coffee. ​Southwest Honduras region near Markala is famous for producing the finest quality coffee in the country, characterized by aromatic notes of chocolate, fruit and nuts.
